Baldur's Gate 3 Patch 7 Beta Release Delayed Due to Dice Roll Issue but Promises Vast Improvements
Larian Studios has delayed the release of Baldur's Gate 3's Patch 7 Closed Beta. Initially scheduled to start on July 22, the Closed Beta has been pushed back due to an issue with dice rolls that surfaced during the final preparations.
The developers anticipated launching the Closed Beta for the long-anticipated Patch 7 today. Unfortunately, they encountered a snag with the dice rolls mechanism, leading to a postponement until later this week. The issue emerged during the process of rectifying specific bugs, demonstrating the unpredictable nature of game development.
In their latest communication on Steam, Larian Studios detailed how the problem affected passive rolls, which were malfunctioning after one of the planned fixes. The group is actively engaged in resolving this issue.
However, the delay provides an opportunity for those who haven't yet registered for the beta to do so. It's also confirmed that this setback won't impact the full release of Patch 7, which is slated for September.
To keep players engaged, Larian has shared an extensive list of highlights from the Patch 7 notes, boasting over 1,000 fixes and enhancements. Among the unveiled features are new Dark Urge evil endings, updates to split screen functionality, animation refinements, and improvements in romance and dialogue. The update will also introduce the previously announced official modding toolkit.
The highlights for Patch 7 include significant advancements in Honour Mode Combat, UI, Art, Gameplay, Animation, Writing and Flow, Scripting, and Performance and Cinematics. These improvements aim to enrich the gaming experience and address previously encountered issues.
