Disney Will Cease to Offer Dreamlight Valley at No Cost
Despite initial promises that Disney Dreamlight Valley would become free-to-play upon its full release, the game developers have had a change of plan. The game, due to leave early access on December 5th, will now continue to be a paid game.
Originally, the developers - Gameloft - envisioned the game to have a paid early access phase, becoming free upon its full release. However, Gameloft explained in a blog post, "From the insights we've gathered during the Early Access period, we have decided to remain as a paid game for the foreseeable future. Therefore, we will not switch to a free-to-play format when we exit Early Access on December 5th." Nonetheless, players who wish to acquire the game will need to pay for it.
