FragPunk Console Launch Delayed: Developers Prioritize Quality Over Quick Release

FragPunk's console release has encountered a setback, to the dismay of those who were eagerly anticipating to diving into the game this weekend, alongside other titles like Split Fiction. Unfortunately, console gamers will not be able to take part in the activity as planned.

The development team at Bad Guitar Studio recently shared an update, indicating that the launch of FragPunk on consoles has been postponed. The delay stems from complications during the certification process on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S platforms, since they faced unforeseen technical hurdles related to optimization and adaptation.

In light of this situation, the developers have decided against hastily releasing the console versions. Instead, they will invest additional time to enhance and prepare these iterations of the game for their eventual launch. Understandably, this means some players will miss out initially, but the studio is planning to offer compensation for the unexpected wait.

Regarding the compensation details, all console gamers will be entitled to receive rewards acquired through engagement, starting from the beginning of Season 1 until the console version officially debuts. This includes in-game currency, cosmetic items, experience points, and more.

For those who pre-ordered, the current orders will be canceled and refunded. Upon the release of the console versions, players who had pre-purchased will receive a bonus of $10 in in-game currency, along with access to the pre-order bonuses.

The statement from Bad Guitar Studio highlights the difficulty of this decision, reaffirming their dedication to ensuring an optimal experience for participants. They believe that taking this additional time will ensure the console versions are fully optimized and polished for launch.
