The Latest Episode of South Park Makes a Reference to Baldur’s Gate III

Those who tuned in to the latest South Park special 'Joining the Panderverse' would have been treated to a funny reference to Baldur's Gate III.

In the episode, Janeisha Adams-Ginyard played an alternative universe version of Eric Cartman who questioned, "do save games not cross multiple universes?" Stan replied, "Save games don't even cross between PCs and PS5s - why would they cross between multiple universes?"

Larian Studios, following the episode, headed to X and remarked, "While Baldur's Gate 3 saves can't cross multiversal barriers, we can confirm they transfer between PC and PS5!"

South Park has a history of drawing upon popular video games. For instance, they partnered with Blizzard to feature World of Warcraft gameplay in Make Love, Not Warcraft. The episode Guitar Queer-O draws themes from Guitar Hero, and in Go God Go, Cartman freezes himself so he doesn't have to endure the wait for a Nintendo Wii any longer.
