The Chase Begins
After arriving at the level, Luigi immediately faces a challenge: he's got to track down a ghost who pilfered a crucial rotor. Start by heading right from the service elevator. Once you've flashed and broken the elevator, continue through the door leading to the Gear Chamber.
Gear Chamber Exploration
Before progressing, take a moment to reflect on the mirror at the door next to the elevator area. You'll see Gem #10 glinting back at you. Once you have Toad, you can return to grab this gem. In the Gear Chamber, descend using the lift on your right to disrupt the ghost with the rotor. Don't forget to uncover the invisible chest next to the lift using your dark-light tool for some goodies.
Strategizing with Ghosts
Navigate through the area to eavesdrop on the ghosts plotting their next moves. Now, it's time to regroup with Toad, who is in the Synchronisation Room, to help you access the Storage Room. From the Gear Chamber, head all the way left and down the stairs beside the lift. Sling your dark-light to reveal a hidden segment of the bridge and cross over to access a secret minigame, which rewards you with Gem #11 upon victory.
Unlocking the Maintenance Hub
Proceed left and enter the door under the stairs. Be cautious as the service elevator passes by, and collect all the money it churns out. You'll find yourself in the Maintenance Hub. Interact with the scanner beside the door and ride the chain to gust the bridge into place. Reveal the hidden door on your left using the dark light.
Discovering More Gems
In this new area, drop down to the floor below and use your dark-light tool to find a chest containing another gem (#12) and a gold skeleton component hidden in the background trash can. Get back up by stepping on the cog-shaped floor markings, then progress to the Crank Room via the previously obscured door.
Unveiling the Crank Room
Two slammers and a key await in the Crank Room. Move right and down the steps to find a rotating platform with three orb bombs. Reveal a large cog using your dark-light tool to get the room in motion, collect money from the chest, and flash red spiders for further rewards. Ascend back upstairs and mount the moving cog. Traverse it to uncover a hidden path along the wall.
Meeting Boony Raboot
In this concealed area, a chest with Boony Raboot lies hidden. Use your dark-light tool to expose it and follow the ghost's movements. Exhaust Boony Raboot using your dark-light, then capture the ghost with your Poltergust. Back in the platform area, wait for the wheel gap to proceed rearward.
Dual Slammer Showdown
Confront two slammers and flash them simultaneously. Fully charge your Poltergust to eliminate both. Discover a gold ghost in the middle locker and secure the key on the right. Ride the cog to the stairs and revisit the Maintenance Hub to open the left-locked door.
Synchro Gantry Adventures
Enter the Synchro Gantry, which is not a cruise ship nightclub but our next puzzle. Interact with the crank ahead for a surprising twist and keep moving. Step on the central pad to drop a guardrail, revealing a crack in the wall. Proceed left to the Synchronisation Room.
Paths to Toad
In the Synchronisation Room, find all three cogs, with the third revealed via dark light. Examine the poster for hidden treasure on the left and gust the revealed cogs into place to free Toad from his portrait.
Toad's Big Escape
With Toad freed, lead him toward the Storage Room. Engage with some pesky greenies to move onward. For Toad to traverse the cuckoo door, retrace to the pressure plate, drop the metal guardrail, and use Poltergust to propel Toad across. Rescue him from greenies as he lands off the conveyor belt.
Greenie Battle in the Maintenance Room
Face an attack from three greenies on the moving cog. Wait for their attack, dodge, stun, and capture them with ease. Propel Toad to the exit platform and reunite via the chain, moving back to the Gear Chamber.
Final Showdown in the Gear Chamber
At the Gear Chamber, confront the purple sneaker ghost and a wave of greenies. Outmaneuver shovel-wielding greenies and mummy greenies. Flash the purple sneaker ghost and use Poltergust to end its sneaky endeavors.
Seizing the Rotor
Once victorious, unload Toad into the lift to bring it down to you. In the Storage Room, pull the poster off the midsection to reveal the rotor. Fire Toad through the hole and join him to collect the rotor.
Concluding the Journey
Your final task is leading Toad to the service elevator. Exit Gear Chamber's top door and head back to the elevator. Do not forget to retrieve the final gem along the way. Congratulations on successfully guiding Luigi through this haunted adventure!
